Alan Taylor, with The Atlantic, and author of In Focus blog presents photographer Goran Tomasevic’s work. The photographer reports scenes of fighting in Damascus.

The Syrian opposition declared it was willing to negotiate with the regime, on the conditions that the 160,000 persons arrested as opponents to the regime in the past two years be freed,  that Syrian living overseas be granted the renewal of their passports and that negotiations would concern Assad’s resignation

60,000 have died in the 22-month conflict in Syria, whilst UN and Arab League representative Lakhdar Brahimi calls for more pressure by the UN Security Council on the Syrian regime, in so far as he was unable to bring both parties to a compromise.
